Pregnancy Basic Edit

I edited my narrative by using basic techniques we learned last week. This is by no means a finished product. I tried to use my keyboard shortcuts and applied different methods of editing such as the blade tool, insert/selection tool, trim, etc. Each scene goes in sequence, yet once finished I realized i needed light sources in certain situation. I would like to insert different effects for my final piece.

Pretty nice video. Its just that the acting is a little thin. But thats understandable considering the conditions we are in. The storyline flows pretty well. But the repeat edits are a little self-aware, particularly the sleeping scene rolling in the sheets. The whole piece doesnt have many major lighting defaults....its just that the actors lack of personas makes the situations seem unrealistic, as this movie is trying to portray a reality

The immediate cut between the party and the next morning is a little big of a jump..

hey tiffani.
editing: in the first scene, when you say " feel so old," we cant hear you say "i." make the cut a little sooner. in the moring after, see if you can fade the song into that scene too. vomiting sounds so real! in the locker scene, make the cut before the fad to black. that looks weird. the boom stick appears in the ab lounger scene. i think you will be able to cut that out without it affecting anything. i like the restless night/ablounger scenes. okay so ireally dont know about the transition between the pregnancy test scene and the baby in the hospital scene. what would happen if you cut the hospital scene out entirely?

plot: a girl keeps seeing sighns of pregnancy and finds out she is pregnant, then has a baby.
story: having to do with the stresses of having a baby while in college. i really think you might like to consider cutting the baby scene out becuase that makes everything end kind of happily and if you end up cutting that out, it will end on a really mad/sad not with "fuck you you motherfucker"
and that would make the story more about the struggle.

mise-en-scene: the lighting is really excellent in places but at other times it is a little flat. i really dont know about the baby plot? decor is consistent with a college students life.

I think your story idea was solid and it said what you wanted to.
The order of the shots were well though out and worked.
The acting was solid espically in the bathroom breakdowm.
I'd say- tighten-tighten tighten.
The film could be half the legnth.
The cut from the party to the end of the party was too harsh.
The run to the bathroom could use some less vomiting.
At 2:13 you can see the mic.
School scene looks great and well lit and acted.
I loved the way your friend was carrying the test.
I think you should cut before your locker swings back open.
Loved the down shot in the bathroom. The scene could have been a third in legnth. Don't need to hear you dial the phone - too much diolog but the break down was great.
Toilet paper didn't work.
Good acting with the baby but needs trimming.

Mise-en-scene - the control was ok. the chips ruffling was way too loud. the heartbeat was also muffled.

Plot/story. I liked the progression of the plot but it seems like it was missing something to tie it together. Mybe a heart beat in the background as soon as she is pregnant and then latter finds out.

Editing - I like brannans suggestion to cut the babby scene. the baby is a little creappy. If you are going for that kind of feel that cool but I woioulfd be good to see that same kind of language throughout the video.

There are a lot of good elements here but I think it is a little too long overall. There are a couple of scenes that can be taken out like the locker scene in the hallway at school, just not necessary. Also The bathroom scene where you are checking the results of the pregnancy test is also a little long. cut 10 seconds or so out o this and you should be fine.

I like how it feels like a college studenbts apartment, party elements and no toilet paper on the bathroom roll. That was good. Also exercise scenes were funny.

The greatest thing about the film is the interaction with the baby tthat is obviously a baby doll face. That alone is worth the price of admission.
